The construction of Bally?s Park Place began as soon as Atlantic City declared casino gambling legal. The venue opened for business on Dec. 29, 1979, on the site of the former Marlborough-Blenheim Hotel.

In 2000, the casino switched its name to Bally?s Atlantic City and later added the adjoining Claridge Hotel and Casino, which became Claridge Tower. Harrah?s Entertainment (later Caesars Entertainment) bought the casino in 2005 and renovated it in 2008.
