FanDuel Sportsbook sign up bonus: $1,000 no sweat first bet
You won’t be disappointed in the new bonus offer once you sign up at Fanduel Sportsbook.
There’s a simple but generous bonus offer in place: a no sweat first bet. This bonus makes your first bet no sweat up to $1,000?when you first join the site.
So, how do you get hold of it? Well, if you were to deposit $200 and then make a bet of the same value and win, nothing happens other than you score a decent payout.
If you lose, though, that’s when things become interesting.
If your bet doesn’t win, you will receive the value of your bet (up to $1,000) so that you can try again later. Though, FanDuel won?t reward you with cash. Instead, the payment will be made in bonus or
site credits, which will then sit in your account for future betting. It’s sort of similar to a refund.

How to use the FanDuel Sportsbook promo code
FanDuel makes it easy to get started. You don?t need a FanDuel online sportsbook promo code to access the offer, but you will need to do the following to make sure that you gain access:
- Create an account.
- Follow the prompts and enter your info.
- Make a deposit and get ready to bet.
The promo offer is only good for your first bet on the site. It?s good for up to $1,000, but you can get started with a smaller amount like $50 if you?d like. Once you?ve made a deposit, it?s time to find something to bet on.
As a quick example, let?s say you drop $200 in your new FanDuel Sportsbok account. After looking around, you find an MLB moneyline wager that you?re into. You take the full $200 and place the bet.
If you win, you receive your winnings as soon as the wager settles. For losing bets, FanDuel will credit you back the amount in full ? up to a max of $1,000 ? in site credits. The terms and conditions say this can take up to 72 hours, but it happened much quicker for us.
Once you have the refund, you can?t withdraw it, but you can use it to play onsite like normal. Any winnings you gain from using the site credits are yours to keep. There?s a good chance that you?ll like FanDuel anyway, but this lets you try it at reduced risk.
FanDuel odds boosts, promos and no sweat bets
Promos are a regular thing at FanDuel. There are dedicated links for promos and boosts, as well as a banner display of featured offerings on the site. Here are the more notable options we came across.
- Boosts: Enhanced odds on select contests.
- Prop bonus: Extra funds if a player prop hits the mark.
- Parlay insurance: Refund of up to $25 if you miss one pick on parlays of five legs or more.
- Refer a friend: Bonus for you and new referrals.
- Prop pick ?em: Free contest with the chance to win site credits.
You can easily find what?s happening at FanDuel, so you won?t have to do a lot of unnecessary digging. This is true for promo offers and virtually everything else you want to do on the site. The platform is among the most user-friendly out there.
FanDuel is also in the upper tier of sportsbooks when it comes to promos. While there?s always room for more incentives, there?s a good variety, with even more for the bigger events.
FanDuel sportsbook app and download
You can take FanDuel on the go and have access at any time via its app. The app is available on iOS and Android, and you?ll find it works just as well as the sportsbook site.
The downloads happened quickly when we tried them. We put both apps through their paces and walked away impressed. FanDuel Sportsbook is optimized for smaller screens, so you?ll be able to handle all business without issue.
For comparison sake, FanDuel is neck-and-neck with DraftKings on the app experience. It really comes down to user preference. They?re both ahead of other smaller competitors when it comes to betting or navigating the sportsbook via the app.
Here?s how to get started:
FanDuel app for iPhone/iPad:
- Set up for your FanDuel account if you haven?t already.
- Look for the ?Sportsbook (iOS)? link under the FanDuel Apps menu at the bottom of the sportsbook site.
- Click it, follow the instructions, and login on mobile once the download is complete.
FanDuel app for Android:
- Complete the sign up process as above.
- This time, choose the ?Sportsbook (Android)? link on the website.
- After clicking, follow the prompts and login on your device when it?s all set.
FanDuel vs. DraftKings: What are the major differences??
As two of the leaders in sports betting, it?s pretty clear that both FanDuel and DraftKings bring a lot to the table. There are some differences between the two platforms, including the light background for FanDuel and darker presentation on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Many of the nuances come down to user preference. We compared these two giants side by side. Here?s how we tallied things in a variety of areas:
- Usability/visual appeal: This one’s more about personal preference than anything else, both sites look good and run smoothly. We’ll take FanDuel, but that’s not slight towards DraftKings.
- Website performance: This is another close one, but FanDuel is the clear winner. That’s because opting into promos at FanDuel works much better than it does at DraftKings. We’ve rarely had issues at FanDuel, but it’s not uncommon at DraftKings to be forced to opt into a promotion multiple times for it to work.
- App performance: We’ve experienced hardly any issues with either online sportsbook app, let’s call this one a dead heat.
- Menu layout: DraftKings does make it easier to find what you’re looking for when using the menu.
- Promos: This used to be a clear win for FanDuel when it paid out its promotions in site credit. However, since switching to a bonus-bet payout system, this race is much tighter. FanDuel still gets the nod though because you can divide up FanDuel bonus bets however you want. You can’t do the same at DraftKings.
- Live betting: While the live betting at both is some of the best you’ll find, we give FanDuel a small edge in this department.
- Cashier: Even
- Bet slip: Even
- Support: Even
- Help section/betting guides: Even
- Sports betting contests/pools: DraftKings offers more pools and contests overall and definitely more free ones that payout in real money.
It?s nearly a draw across the board. DraftKings has a slightly better layout in certain aspects, but FanDuel is just a little bit smoother in spots. The FanDuel live betting section is more user-friendly, while DraftKings has some intriguing pool contests in addition to its wagers.
You?ll even find similar options when it comes to promo offerings like odds boosts and parlay insurance. The final verdict is a toss-up, so it makes sense to take both sites for test drives to determine what works best for you.
How does FanDuel compare to other US sportsbooks??
There?s much more to consider than how FanDuel stacks up in comparison to DraftKings. Sports bettors have plenty of options to consider these days, so how does FanDuel do as we focus on broader comparisons?
It has a lot going for it. The app and site look great and are easy to use. While some spots could be easier to navigate, the sum of the parts equals a great experience. On usability, FanDuel tops BetMGM Sportsbook, but the latter has a few more options available for betting.
Caesars Sportsbook also offers a slick experience that?s comparable, but it can sometimes be lacking in the promo department in comparison to FanDuel. As for the odds, all three sportsbooks are comparable overall, but there are differences when you shop around.?
This is a case in which the wisdom-of-the-crowds approach is on the money. FanDuel has rightfully earned its place as a top online sportsbook in a number of states. There?s nothing to suggest that will be changing anytime soon.
What?s great about FanDuel
- User friendly and visually appealing.
- Solid selection of sports and bets.
- Same-game parlays and other features.
Areas in need of improvement
- Ongoing loyalty program would be nice.
- Player prop listings could be a little cleaner.
- FAQ and help sections could be better organized.

FanDuel Sportsbook in New York
FanDuel was one of nine online operators that were recommended for licenses by the NY State Gaming Commission in November 2021. It then became one of four sportsbooks to come online on the very first day regulated online sportsbooks were live in the state — January 8, 2024. In New York, FanDuel is partnered with Tioga Downs Casino Resort in Nichols, NY.
Sports bettors in New York are not allowed to bet on any college events featuring New York teams. Lastly, making bets on which player will win an award, like Super Bowl MVP, is not permitted as long as the winner is determined by a vote.
FanDuel Sportsbook in Michigan
Legal sports betting launched on the retail front in Michigan in 2020. A physical FanDuel Sportsbook opened at MotorCity Casino that March. Online sports betting launched the following January.
FanDuel Michigan was one of the first to go live in the state. As has been the case in a number of other legal states, the sportsbook is at the top of the charts in terms of online revenue.
FanDuel also isn?t shy about offering promos linked to local teams. Be on the lookout for offers involving the Detroit Lions, Pistons, Red Wings and Tigers. College sports also have a large following in the state, and there are no restrictions on betting on local schools like Michigan or Michigan State.
While legal sports betting is still relatively new in Michigan, it has already proven to be a very strong market. It?s likely to continue growing in the coming months and years, and FanDuel?s position as the early market leader sets the sportsbook up for even more success.
New players can complete the entire registration process remotely. There?s no need to visit the retail FanDuel Sportsbook unless you want to, but the venue has also proven to be a popular attraction for local bettors.
FanDuel Sportsbook in Arizona
Arizona officially legalized sports betting in April 2021. Plans call for 20 licenses, and FanDuel wasted little time in securing its spot. The company inked a deal with the Phoenix Suns the same month.
FanDuel AZ will be bringing a retail sportsbook to the Suns? arena. As part of the deal, its web and app platforms will also be available across the state. The timeline to launch called for being ready by the 2021 NFL season.
The FanDuel brand has proven to be a big hit in a number of legal states. We expect the same story here. Arizona is a great market for sports, with representatives in all of the top pro leagues.
Promos specific to the Suns are a natural, and we can also expect FanDuel to pay careful attention to drawing in fans of the Arizona Cardinals, Coyotes and Diamondbacks.
Legal sports betting continues to expand across the US, and there are a number of large markets still waiting for sportsbooks. Arizona was one of them, and FanDuel will be a big part of the story of how it all shapes up out west.
FanDuel Sportsbook in Louisiana
Retail sportsbooks were opened in Louisiana prior to online sportsbooks launching on January 28, 2024. FanDuel Louisiana was among the first handful of operators to launch in the Pelican State.
In Louisiana, you cannot bet if you are in any of these Louisiana parishes: Caldwell, Franklin, West Carroll, Catahoula, Jackson, LaSalle, Sabine, Union and Winn. You also cannot bet if you’re on the tribal lands of any of these four Louisiana native American tribes: Chitimacha Tribe, Coushatta Tribe, Tunica-Biloxi Indian Tribe and Jena Band of Choctaw Indians.
FanDuel Sportsbook in Kansas
Sports betting was legal in Kansas as of July 1, 2024, and officially launched on September 1, 2024.?FanDuel gained market access in Kansas through a partnership with?Kansas Star Casino.

How to sign up/create an account
The sign-up process at FanDuel is simple. To start, head to the sportsbook site and select your state. While you don?t need to be a resident of the state to play, you do need to be within state lines when betting. FanDuel will verify that with geolocation software.
After the state is out of the way, you?ll enter an email address and pick a username and password. Click the button to create your account and you?ll receive a prompt to enter the following details:
- Name
- Address
- Date of birth
- Phone number
- Last four digits of your Social Security number
Next, you?ll choose two-factor authorization if you want it and check off some standard boxes covering the terms and conditions and verifying that you?re of legal age. After that?s all done, click to finish up and you?ll be good to go.
You can start browsing around to see all that FanDuel has to offer, but remember to make your deposit to take advantage of the promo. The entire sign-up process is quick and painless and similar to what you?ll find at other legal sportsbooks.
Betting options with the FanDuel app
FanDuel sports betting has a big menu to choose from. It has deals in place with several of the major pro leagues and feature odds for all of the top events prominently on the site. There?s also a solid selection of sports that have much smaller followings. FanDuel divides its menu into two sections:
- Popular
- All sports
Under the popular tab, you?ll see the leagues that FanDuel has deals in place with. Just click on what you want from either menu, and the lobby will fill with upcoming events.
As an example, you?ll see the NFL?s shield logo next to its name in the popular section. Once you click on it, all of the different ways to wager will appear on the screen. Over on the web, there?s a clear menu of available NFL betting options, each with clickable links:
- Games
- Featured
- Super Bowl
- Other futures
- Player props
- Specials
It?s a nice layout that lets you focus on what you?re looking for quickly. If you go over to a game and click on that, you?ll see all of the available odds, including alternate lines and props.
For prop listings, FanDuel does a solid job on a game-by-game basis, but there?s no main spot to see everything that?s available. DraftKings manages to do so with a listing of props for all games on the docket, so it would be nice to see FanDuel follow suit.
As for niche sports, you might find a couple of more options available over at BetMGM, but FanDuel covers all of the most popular small sports, including darts and table tennis. You?ll have more than enough to choose from here.
- Pro: Overall presentation is solid and top sports are
- Con: Couple of spots could use tweaking and missing a couple of niche sports.
Available bets at FanDuel Sportsbook
FanDuel has all of the top bets covered. Main game listings feature the odds for moneylines, spreads and totals. If you click on one, you?ll see the props and alternate lines. There?s a big selection of futures for the top sports, and you can build parlays with ease.
Speaking of parlays, FanDuel has been an innovator with its ?same-game parlay? feature. Once available at only a few books, it has now become pretty much standard practice across the industry. FanDuel has a dedicated tab for building them on the main game listings. For example, for an MLB game, you could make your moneyline call and bet on a player to hit a home run.
There?s a dedicated tab for live betting. Clicking on it will list all of the in-progress events, and there are also clickable links for each sport that?s currently going on. It?s a nice touch that lets you find what you want without a hassle.
Also, there?s a ?watch live? link for events that FanDuel has access to provide coverage for. Even if it?s not available for what you want, there?s still a solid display of what?s happening. FanDuel is in the top tier of books for live betting.
- Pro: Same-game parlay feature and solid live betting section.
- Con: Menu of additional game betting options could use some work.
FanDuel banking by state
The cashier function at FanDuel is easy to use, and you?ll find a good number of options available. However, exactly what you can use will vary by state. Here?s how you can deposit in the states where FanDuel is currently live.

Virginia | Credit and debit card, bank transfer, PayPal, Play+ |
West Virginia | Credit and debit card, bank transfer, cash at the cage |
Wyoming | Credit and debit card, online banking, Play+, PayPal, wire transfer |
There?s a lot of similarity in many states, while others offer limited options. PayPal is available nearly everywhere, while some form of card works in each locale. In Iowa and Tennessee, note that debit cards are fine but credit cards are not.
FanDuel says that it can take 48 hours or more to process withdrawals. It?s been much quicker in our experience, but times can vary during peak periods or on weekends. For a general rule, consider 72 hours the max, with most processed much more quickly than that.
The amount of time it takes your withdrawal to hit your account will depend on the method that you choose. Also, note that not all deposit methods are available for withdrawals, such as PayNearMe.
For those who want to take care of business in person, using cash at the cage is an option in places where FanDuel has a physical presence. Note that not every one of these partner locations may always offer cash at cage, so you may want to check in with customer support before making a special trip:

Customer support
If you need some assistance at FanDuel, you won?t have to look too far. There?s a direct link to support options, as well as a full FAQ and betting guide. For support, you can submit a ticket for less pressing matters.
You enter your name and the nature of your question, and a representative will get back to you with an answer. Chat works the same way, but you get to talk to someone right away. In our test, it took around a minute to get some live help.
The help menus are pretty organized and clean, but they could be better, and the search function could be smoother. Overall, FanDuel does a good job with customer support, but the addition of a telephone option would be more than welcome.

In select states, FanDuel also has casino games. There?s a direct link right from the sportsbook so users can go back and forth with ease. You?ll also find a shared wallet so you?ll be able to play what you want when you want. It?s a nice added convenience for those looking to take a break from sports without having to travel far.
FanDuel?s entry into the US market
FanDuel launched in 2009 and began its US operations as a daily fantasy sports provider. The company was a driving force behind the explosive growth of the industry and remains a leader in the space.
When legal sports betting became an option to states outside of Nevada in 2018, FanDuel was ready. Retail sports betting operations opened in New Jersey in July of that year, followed by the online and mobile rollout soon after.
Around the same time, FanDuel merged with Paddy Power Betfair, which is now known as Flutter Entertainment. FanDuel is the primary brand under the umbrella, which also includes FOX Bet, PokerStars and TVG.
Following the NJ launch, FanDuel has been steadily opening in new markets on both a retail and online basis. It remains one of the top sports betting companies in the US, and it plans to enter additional states in the coming months and years.
The FanDuel platform is highly regarded across the industry, and it has been a hit with bettors in many markets. Legal sports betting is still in a big growth phase across the US, and FanDuel is poised to be a large part of how the story is written. FanDuel Sportsbook is up and running in these states: Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia and Wyoming.?
