MotorCity history and current owners
Motor City Casino was opened by the Mandalay Resort Group in 1999. This venue was built on the site of the former Wagner Baking Company. When MGM Mirage purchased Mandalay Resort Group in 2005, it had to sell one of its gaming properties, as Michigan laws prohibited companies from owning two casinos in the state.
