The Top 5 Slots from SG Interactive
The SG Interactive family includes a variety of great machines for all kinds of players. These five options offer a nice mix of gameplay for fans of bonus games, fast slots and high stakes options. Note that all of these machines are also available at mobile casinos, for a full experience on smaller screens as well.
Monopoly Millionaire (Monopoly 250K) – Monopoly Millionaire is a flashy game that makes use of their Hasbro games license. Featuring 5 reels and 40 paylines, this game is absolutely stuffed with bonus games and features. There are mystery and chance spaces that can turn a losing spin into a big winner, along with a chance for a random multiplier thanks to the Community Chest feature. Players lucky enough to trigger the bonus wheel will find that it’s stuffed with cash prizes and four separate bonus games. Note that there are two versions of the same game, Monopoly Millionaire and Monopoly 250K. The only difference is the jackpot, with one offering $1 million and the other locked at $250,000. While players should obviously pick Millionaire if it’s available, Monopoly 250K is sometimes all that an app or casino has to offer.
Wonder Woman: Bracelets and Bullets – Another popular licensed game from Bally, this 5-reel 40-payline machine based on the famous superhero offers fast gameplay, tall stacks of mystery spaces to load up the reels and lots of exciting features. It includes Bally’s classic U-Spin Bonus Wheel, featuring cash prizes, jackpots and a bonus round. Players who make it
to the bonus round can enjoy the Knock Out Wild symbols that lock into place to rack up free spin wins, or the Transforming Wild symbols that group together to stack up bigger wins as the game continues.
Zeus III – A fun update to the Williams Interactive classic based on Greek mythology. This 6-reel machine uses expanding reels to shake things up for players looking for something different from the classic 5-reel setup. Featuring 192 ways to win and stacked wilds, players can sit back and watch the wins stack up on lucky spins. The included free spin feature flips the board around and adds in wild stacks that can shift to fill an entire reel to make payouts bigger and more frequent.
Elvis: The King Lives – An older machine from Williams Interactive that’s been updated for mobile play to make it even easier for Elvis fans to take a trip down memory lane. Technically featuring 11 separate reels along with 80 paylines, this unique layout sets up boosted wins to make sure that one winning payline usually turns into many more. The included bonus feature can be triggered through two separate methods, and it stacks extra cash rewards and bigger symbols onto the already great free spin round.
Dr. Jekyll Goes Wild – This fun machine from Barcrest slots online offers fast games, a loaded bonus round and a Big Bet option for high rollers. This 5-reel 10-payline game based around the classic Gothic horror tale requires a steeper buy-in than some other machines, but players ready to pay to play should have a great time. The Dr. Jekyll Free Spins bonus can transform into the Mr. Hyde Unlimited Spins bonus which includes locking wilds to really let the payouts grow. The exciting Big Bet feature lets players put it all on the line by placing a larger bet on a set of five spins for the chance to get up to 75 free spins by following Dr. Jekyll’s Trail.
Mobile Gaming Options
As noted above, players who are interested in SG Interactive slot machines have a lot of options for playing them on mobile devices.
The company has focused on optimizing the software and mobile interfaces to allow for fast and stable play. Players who live in states and countries that allow real money gambling should be able to find a range of legitimate online casinos that offer SG Interactive machines.
Anyone who does not live where online slot machine betting is legal can still scratch that itch by finding one of many sources for free versions of the machines.
As noted, several casinos offer free social gaming apps of their own that feature SG Interactive products. Players without a local or favorite casino can take advantage of the Gold Fish Casino Slots app.
The app offers a mix of SG Interactive machines. While players can choose to pay for more coins, the app does offer free coins every two hours.
The included progression system tracks player progress and rewards players with experience as they rack up the wins.
The app starts players with just the titular Gold Fish Slots, but as players gain levels they’ll earn free coins, new perks and unlock more games to play.
The Path to SG Interactive
The Scientific Games brand can be traced back to its foundation in 1973 by John Koza and Daniel Bower. Originally, the focus was on gaining a share in the rapidly growing instant lottery business.
When the pair started working, only 13 states in the United States had state lotteries. Generally, the operations were run by the state and led by former law enforcement experts. This kept operations small and generally inexperienced in design and promotion.
Designing secure tickets was a major issue. In the early days, clever gamblers could potentially determine which tickets were the big winners just by looking at them in the case due to varying flaws made during production. It was a problem in need of a big solution.
John Koza was a computer scientist and former Stanford Professor, and Daniel Bower was a specialist in running retail promotions. Together, the pair devised the first modern, secure instant scratch-off lottery tickets, created appealing designs and perfected running large batches.
The combination of a more randomized, scientific design and batches that ran in the hundreds of thousands kept the playing field equal. Instant lotteries were ready for the big leagues.
From this point, Scientific Games spread out across the country winning contracts to operate state lotteries and successfully lobbying for more states to legalize lotteries.
Scientific Games would generally continue like this until they crossed paths with Autotote. Founded as Automatic Totalisators Limited (or ATL) in Australia in 1917, the company began by providing automated tote boards to track odds for horse races using advanced computing techniques for the time.
The company would grow into an empire through several mergers and acquisitions, including an expansion into the US market following their purchase by the venture capitalist Thomas H. Lee in 1979.
He rebranded the company into Autotote Systems. Autotote grew rapidly through the 80s and 90s by providing systems and equipment for parimutuel betting for greyhound and horse racing across the country while also moving into off-track betting operations.
Rebranding & Aquisitions
In 2000, they would buy and merge into Scientific Games, choosing to rebrand the entire company as the Scientific Games Corporation in 2001.
After continued expansion in betting systems throughout the 2000s, the company began its move into the slot machine gaming space by building up the SG Interactive brand through acquisitions.
Starting in April of 2011, the company successfully purchased British slot machine company Barcrest from IGT, who were looking to sell off less profitable divisions to consolidate their business. Barcrest wouldn’t be alone for long though.
In October 2013, they would add WMS Systems to their slot machine division through a $1.5 billion purchase.
The historic Bally Technologies, one of the most important innovators in slot machine technology over the last century, was acquired in November 2014 as a $5.8 billion acquisition. To aid in continued game development, slot and casino app developer Red7Mobile was purchased in 2017.
Through this period, SG Interactive came into its own. SG Interactive would combine its technological prowess and casino software with these innovative slot machine designers to perfect and re-release older designs and offer fun, new products.
SG Interactive has aggressively pursued licensed properties. They successfully gained the rights to produce slot machines themed around Star Trek, James Bond along with Hasbro games such as Monopoly, Battleship and Yahtzee.
Note that in 2018, Scientific Games also created the SG Digital brand to oversee some of SG Interactive’s business solutions. It’s common to see both names on newer Scientific Games machines.
SG Interactive’s Top Tech Innovations
SG Interactive’s main innovations are not necessarily focused on changing the mechanics of slot machine games. In general, each of the incorporated studios has continued to bring their own expertise to
the table and SG Interactive has given them the room they need to operate.
Bally machines still utilize the company’s famous U-Spin Bonus Wheel. WMS machines continue to offer boosted reels, unconventional layouts and guaranteed bonus round payouts. Features such as the Big Bet option from Barcrest that allows players to pay a premium for a set of spins with a higher chance of triggering a bonus round have also been preserved.
Players can still find the type of machine that they like within the SG family.
The heart of SG Interactive’s involvement is focused on improving the ways people can play their favorite machines.
Their greatest advancements have come in providing online and mobile versions of their acquired companies’ slots. Their game server software and their network of international remote servers allow players to find the best games in more places. This push for easier online access is shaping the future of slots.
Similarly, they’ve pushed for a focus on adding social gaming options for players who can’t legally bet from home, or for anyone who just wants to play some no-risk slots.
SG Interactive’s Play4Fun Network allows casinos to easily establish their own social apps with integrated slots and table games. This lets players stay connected with their favorite, local casino, and play their favorite machines anywhere they go.
SG Interactive oversees the Jackpot Party Social Casino on Facebook and the Gold Fish Casino Slots app for iOS and Android. These apps allow players to enjoy the entire family of SG Interactive slot games for free. It also brings dozens of popular games under one convenient roof.
