Hamburg Gaming Buffalo Raceway history and current owners

Hamburg Gaming Buffalo Raceway at the Erie County Fairgrounds opened as a half-mile harness racing track in 1942. In 1971, Sportservice Corp. bought the facility and added simulcast wagering in the 1980s.

Another change of ownership occurred in 1990 when the Erie County Agricultural Society bought the property, adding VLTs in 2004. This created Fairgrounds Gaming. In 2010, Fairgrounds Gaming moved to a new building and changed its name to Hamburg Gaming.

Now, the Buffalo Trotting Association owns Hamburg Gaming, and Delaware North serves as the operational partner.
