New online casino hits Michigan, enter Sports Illustrated

Popular magazine brand Sports Illustrated launched an online casino in Michigan this week, bringing the Michigan online casino total to 15.

SI Casino Michigan launched in partnership with the Hannahville Indian Community and 888 Holdings.

“I wish the Hannahville tribe continued success as they once again may offer their customers both internet gaming and internet sports betting in Michigan,” Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) Executive Director Henry Williams said in a statement.

SI Casino offers multiple game types

Like most Michigan online casino apps, slots make up most of the games SI Casino offers. Here’s a breakdown of games by type:

  • Slots: 342 games total, including
  • SI exclusive games: 53, including
  • Table games: 16, including video poker
  • Live dealer games: 15, including poker, blackjack, baccarat, and roulette

One of the casino’s best features is that players can browse slots by themes. For example, a player could search all slot titles with a Wild West theme.

New players can cash in
on a $1,010 bonus

SI Casino Michigan is offering new players a pair of bonuses that total up to $1,010. The biggest bonus is a 100% first-deposit match of up to $1,000.

However, you have to bet at least $10,000 at SI Casino in the first 90 days to receive the bonus. That requirement could deter newcomers who aren’t comfortable gambling that much.

In addition to the $1,000 deposit match, SI Casino will give new users a $10 credit to SI Sportsbook Michigan. Other casino promos include daily jackpots, a game of the week that offers bonus cash, and a spin-to-win contest offering free prizes.

New Michigan online casino ends five-month pause for Hannahville tribe

When the Hannahville tribe launched its first online casino in Michigan, it hired Twin Spires as its platform provider.

However, in 2022, Twin Spires announced it would exit the casino market in Michigan. That left the Hannahville tribe in a bind. It not only needed a new operator, but it would lose revenue for every month online gambling wasn’t live under its license.

So, the tribe struck a deal with 888 in September to launch an online casino. MGCB’s Williams said at the time:

“The Hannahville tribe is the first operator in Michigan to change platform providers since internet gaming and sports betting began here in January 2021. The tribe has found another experienced partner, and I wish them continued success.”

Its new online casino launched this past Tuesday at 8 a.m. The tribe also operates Island Resort and Casino in Harris.
