Regular promotions on the Bally Bet app
While we don’t know what the exact promotions will be on the Bally Bet app, we can make some guesses at the type of promos the sportsbook will offer.
Most online sportsbooks have daily odds boosts that will increase the odds for a few highlighted games and prop bets. These boosts are rarely huge increases; think more along the lines of going from +380 to +430 or +160 to +185, for example. Also, you usually cannot use the boosted odds in parlays or round robins.

What states is Bally Bet legal in?
Currently, Bally Bet Sportsbook is not legal in Arizona, Colorado, Iowa, Indiana, New York and Virginia. It almost certainly will be expanding into New York when mobile sports betting goes live there. Indiana and New Jersey are other potential landing spots for Bally Bet Online Sportsbook.
How to create a Bally Bet account
Creating a Bally Bet account is similar to how you would do so at other existing online sportsbooks.
You will open up either the Bally Bet app on your Android or iOS device, or you’ll go to the Bally Bet Sportsbook website. From there you’ll click on the sign-up button and supply your name, address (both home and email), date of birth, phone number and the last four digits of your Social Security number.
If Bally Bet has a promo code, this likely will be when you enter it. Other than that, there’s likely not much else you’d have to do to create your account.

While we’re not able to give you a review of the Bally Bet Sportsbook app since it doesn’t exist yet, we do have a little information.

Best features of the Bally Bet sportsbook app
Since the Bally Bet app has yet to be released, we obviously cannot comment on which features of it we like the best. We can however let you know some of the things we hope to see when it does debut.
- Loyalty club: If Bally Bet hopes to make inroads with players who are already loyal to another sportsbook, it’s going to have to offer something that a lot of books don’t, and that’s a rewards/loyalty club.
- Promotions: Another thing we’ll really be keeping our eyes on is the number and quality of promos offed on the Bally Bet sports betting app. In our estimation, FanDuel, DraftKings and BetMGM are some of the best sportsbooks to model when it comes to offering great promotions that benefit bettors of all types.
- Unique betting options: And a third area we’d love to see Bally’s excel in is offering something that you don’t see at many other sportsbooks. PointsBet made a name for itself thanks to PointsBetting, and FanDuel helped popularize single-game parlays. We’re not sure what it is, but if Bally Bet is looking to make a splash, this is one way to do it.
How could Bally Bet improve?
Just like with our favorite features section, since we don’t have anything to actually go on, we’ll offer up three things we hope Bally Bet avoids.
- Odds: It doesn’t matter how great the app is or how many promotions the sportsbook offers, if the sports betting odds aren’t at least close to what other top books have, it can be a deal-breaker. Here’s hoping that Bally Bet odds are at least competitive.
- Sportsbook-only app: Since Bally’s could end up having an online casino along with its online sportsbook, we’re crossing our fingers that it creates two separate apps. We prefer opening the app we want at the time, instead of having to always navigate around the online casino offerings if we’re not at all interested in them.
- Speed: PointsBet is at the top of the mountain when it comes to speed, but both DraftKings and FanDuel aren’t far behind. If Bally Bet is going to gain some market share, its app will need to be in the same range.
Types of bets available on Bally Bet Sportsbook
One thing we can be nearly certain of is the types of sports bets that will be available on the Bally Bet app. Here’s an overview of all the varieties of sports wagers you’ll likely see:
- Moneyline: For moneyline bets, you are simply picking the team you think will win.
Example: Kansas City Chiefs -278 vs. Dallas Cowboys +235. The negative number indicates that the Chiefs are the favored team and a $278 bet on them would win you $100 in profit. On the other side, the positive number means that a $100 wager would win you $235 if the Cowboys were to win. - Point spread: When betting against the spread, your wager is dependent on an estimated margin of victory.
Example: A spread on the Los Angeles Lakers of -8.5 vs. Miami Heat +8.5. Again, the negative number means the Lakers are the favored team. For a bet on them to win L.A., would need to win by nine points or more. If you choose to bet on the underdog Heat, you need them to win the game outright or lose by eight points or fewer. - Totals: Totals, also called over/unders, are bets for one of a number of statistical categories, with you selecting whether you think the outcome will be over or under the supplied number.
Example: New York Yankees Boston Red Sox, total 9.5. Here the bet is on whether the Red Sox and Yankees will combine to score over or under 9.5 runs in their game. If the final score is 6-4, bets on the over would win. - Props: These are side bets that do not have to do with the overall outcome of a game. Instead, props bets are focused on whether a specific event will occur during a contest.
Examples: Will the Colorado Avalanche’s Nathan MacKinnon score a goal? Will the Milwaukee Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo record a triple-double? Will the Seattle Seahawks’ Russell Wilson throw for more than 289.5 yards? - Parlays: Here we have bets that can be extremely profitable, but they are also challenging to get correct because you are betting on multiple outcomes to happen, and you must get all your picks right. Parlays can involve any number of selections, known as legs, and can be across different sports.
Example: You bet on the Los Angeles Dodgers and Chicago Cubs to win their respective games and the Tampa Bay Lightning to win their Stanley Cup playoff series. For your bet to cash, you will need all three events to happen. - Teasers: These wagers are primarily for football and basketball. In teasers, you are betting against the spread and you are moving the line for all your selected bets.
Example: You want to bet on Alabama (-16.5), Clemson (-10.5) and Ohio State (-3.5) to all cover the spread in their college football games, but you don’t like the lines, so you tease them by six points. Your new lines become (Alabama (-10.5), Clemson (-4.5) and Ohio State (+2.5). - Round robins: Round robins are similar to parlays because you’re making multiple selections, but your choices are in groups that allow you to miss a game and still win part of your bet. Round robins involve three or more selections.
Example: You create a round robin for Duke, North Carolina and Kansas to all win their college basketball games, combining the games in groups of two: Duke-North Carolina, Duke-Kansas and North Carolina-Kansas. This way if the Blue Devils and Jayhawks win, but the Tar Heels lose, you still win one of your three. - Futures: Futures bets take place further down the road, often on something that is the result of an entire season of play, instead of wagers on only one game.
Examples: Betting on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to win the Super Bowl. Or wagering on Patrick Mahomes to win the NFL MVP - Live betting: These are any bets that you make after a game has started. While you can make an adjusted spread, moneyline and over/under wagers as live bets, you also can bet on what will happen during the next possession in an NBA or NFL game or during the next at-bat of a Major League Baseball contest.
Sports you can bet on at Bally Bet
The sports that Bally Bet will have for you to wager on will vary from state to state, but we would be stunned if you are not able to bet on all the major sports that other sportsbooks make available.
So have no fear, Bally Bet likely will have all the NFL, NHL, MLB, NBA, MLS, UFC, PGA Tour and NASCAR action you can handle.
Bally’s also is sure to have markets for college football and college basketball, the WNBA, both men’s and women’s tennis and soccer from around the globe (i.e., Champions League and English Premier League).
And if by chance you’re a fan of sports with lesser followings like table tennis or rugby, chances are Bally Bet will have markets for those, as well.
Bally Bet futures market
Futures markets tend to differ depending on the sportsbook, with some having more offerings than others. Until Bally Bet is operational, we can’t say exactly what the markets will look like, but we feel confident Bally’s will have futures for the following categories:
- Championship winners: What would futures betting be without having markets for which team will win the title. Just think of all the Cubs fans who finally cashed in back in 2016 when Chicago won the World Series. Or what about when Leicester City won the English Premier League title, also in 2016, when it began the year as 5,000-1 long shots. Bally Bets likely will have markets available on teams to win conference and division titles, too.
- Regular season wins: For these markets, the sportsbook supplies a number for each team, and you pick whether a team will finish with more or fewer regular-season wins than the number. Some books run local specials that award bonus money for each win over the number for your hometown squad.
- Player futures: Also a very popular futures market and one we expect to see at the Bally Bet Sportsbook. For player futures, you usually are able to place bets on which player will win the MVP award in their league. For the NFL, it’s not uncommon to have markets for which players will finish with the most rushing, receiving and passing yards, too. Also, come playoff time, many books have odds on which player will win the playoff or finals MVP.

For depositing money at Bally’s, we would expect users to be able to do so using online bank transfers, e-checks and credit cards. It also would make sense to let players use services such as PayPal.
While offering various ways to deposit money is important, giving players options to cash out is equally as crucial. The worst thing is to win big and go to withdraw your winnings, only to find you’re going to have to wait a couple of weeks for a check in the mail.
To that end, it’s likely that Bally Bet will allow players to withdraw money using e-checks, bank transfers and probably having the money put on prepaid credit cards. If Bally partners with a company like PayPal for deposits, it’s reasonable to assume you also will be able to withdraw in the same way.

Depending on the state you’re located in, it’s likely that if Bally has a retail sportsbook there you will be able to both deposit and withdraw from that location.

How to contact Bally Bet customer support
Once Bally Bet Sportsbook has launched, it obviously will have ways for you to contact customer support.
We’re hopeful that some form of customer service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The last thing any of us wants is to encounter a problem and not have anyone to reach out to for help.
Ideally, Bally Bet would have different methods of reaching out for help, such as a number to call, a number to text, a live chat and an email address.

We know Bally’s is committed to responsible gambling because it has been in the industry for years and it understands that gambling in any form can become a problem for some people.

Bally Bet then began launching its online sportsbook in a handful of states. As of May 2023, the Bally Bet Sportsbook app is legal in Arizona, Colorado, Iowa, Indiana, New York and Virginia. Look for more states to come online later in 2022 and even more in 2023.
The question that remains is whether Bally Bet will become one of the top online sportsbooks in the country, along with name brands such as BetMGM, FanDuel and DraftKings, or if it will be relegated to the second tier of sports betting apps.
