Bonuses and jackpots for Cash Hound (Rating of 5/5)
There are three bonus features for Ainsworth’s Cash Hound — jackpot respins, the super bonus game, and the crazy feature. The first activates whenever you hit a mini, minor, or maxi jackpot by filling the first two, three, or four reels with cash hounds. Wins are counted as is, the full reels are locked into place, and the rest of the reels are respun to earn a higher jackpot level. If you don’t get a higher jackpot, you still get to keep the first.
You can trigger the super bonus game and the crazy feature in the same way. All you have to do is land on three golden bone scatters, and the slot chooses a feature for you randomly. The super bonus gives you 10 free plays and five additional ones every time you land on two more scatters. The free spins play out mostly normally, except cash hounds are now wilds, and there’s a new symbol: the hound head. The hound head only appears in the first reel, and if you land on it, the first three, four, or five reels are turned into the same symbol, and you’re given a multiplier of two or three for that spin.
For the crazy feature, you get six free spins. Depending on which spin you’re on, anywhere between one and five whole reels turn into the same symbol. Starting with the sixth spin, you have the chance to earn multipliers and additional plays. Wins are added together at the end and then to your total.
Cash Hound graphics and visuals (Rating of 3/5)
The visuals in Cash Hound are on two ends of the spectrum. Its graphics and images are cleanly made and detailed, ranging from terrifying pigs stuffing their cheeks with mud to rabbits giving the player the side-eye as they chomp on carrots. Even the smaller details of the background are clear. The slot’s animations, however, don’t meet the same level of quality. Each is made of very few frames, and they’re not entertaining to watch.
Cash Hound gameplay (Rating of 3/5)
Cash Hound has average gameplay in all aspects. It follows the same instructions as most other slot machines, and its bonus games don’t ask anything new of the player. The slot does earn some points back for its gameplay options, including rapid and autoplay.
Overall rating for Cash Hound by Ainsworth (Rating of 3.5/5)
Taking into account Cash Hound’s benefits and drawbacks, it earns a slightly above average rating of 3.5/5. The game has tremendous graphics and bonus features, but its animations and gameplay have a lot of room for improvement.
