Maverick Gaming Chooses PayNearMe Payment Platform

Maverick Gaming, a gaming company with more than 20 card rooms and casinos in three states, has selected PayNearMe’s MoneyLine platform to upgrade its Play Maverick Sports Colorado sports betting app.

The partnership between Maverick Gaming and PayNearMe means that Maverick, which offers an online sportsbook in Colorado, can give its customers more payment and payout options. Maverick Gaming Chief Executive Officer Eric Persson said in a press release.

“PayNearMe has consolidated the widest range of deposit and payout methods in the industry into a single platform integration with a consistent look and feel, which gives our customers a broad choice of payment options on a single screen. MoneyLine also dramatically improves the overall customer experience. It’s a real game-changer for the industry.”

What Maverick Colorado sports bettors get with PayNearMe integration

PayNearMe’s MoneyLine platform is meant to make sports betting easier for bettors. Maverick’s Colorado sports betting customers can now:

• Make a deposit using cards, cash, and mobile options such as Apple Pay, PayPal, and Venmo
• Send payouts directly to a debit card

What’s ahead for Maverick sports betting?

The move to hire PayNearMe makes sense, as Maverick operates a mobile sportsbook in Colorado. But does Maverick have more sportsbooks in mind?

If it were up to them, yes. Maverick Gaming has been a vocal advocate of expanding Washington sports betting to non-tribal organizations. Currently, Washington state law only allows sports betting on reservations of federally recognized tribes.

Maverick tried to change that by filing a lawsuit against the state in 2022. The company argued that the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act (IGRA) shouldn’t be used to limit certain types of gaming like sports betting. As a result, it wanted to overhaul the state’s 2020 sports betting law to allow non-tribal companies to offer sports betting outside of reservations.

However, a federal judge dismissed the lawsuit in February.
